Alhamdulillah, on Wednesday (August 6, 2025), the students of Kahf International Boarding School were warmly welcomed by the Halaqah Mutun supervisor, Shaykh Anas Al-Khatib (may Allah preserve him), at the Idarah Al-Mutun Al-‘Ilmiyyah office in the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid Nabawi). He warmly received and appreciated the Kahf students.
According to Shaykh Anas, memorizing Mutun (Islamic texts) is a significant advantage for students intending to continue their studies at the Islamic University of Madinah (UIM).
“Those who obtain a Mutun memorization certificate (shahadah) will, in shaa Allah, be prioritized for admission to the Islamic University of Madinah over those who have not memorized,” said the Shaykh.
The Halaqah Mutun program at Masjid Nabawi takes place from Sunday to Thursday, with both online and offline sessions scheduled twice daily:
One session after Fajr prayer,
One session after Asr prayer.
The Kahf students have previously participated in the online program (ʿan buʿūd) for one year. Now, they have come in person to attend the offline program (barnaamaj ḥuḍūrī) directly at Masjid Nabawi.
The students are scheduled to join the morning sessions for memorization and the afternoon sessions for recitation (tasmi').
Considering the weather conditions from July to December, both sessions have their respective advantages and disadvantages, as this semester falls during the summer season (mawsim ṣayfī) in Saudi Arabia.
If students attend the post-Fajr session, they leave while the weather is cool but return when it is hot.
If they attend the Asr session, they go out under the scorching heat but return when it is cooler.
Below is the documentation from today’s first Halaqah session of the students.
